Methodology

This double-blind, randomized, split-face clinical trial evaluated 5% topical niacinamide versus vehicle control in 50 women with visible signs of facial aging. After 12 weeks, the niacinamide-treated side showed statistically significant improvements in fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmented spots, texture, red blotchiness, and skin sallowness (yellowing). Niacinamide (vitamin B3) has since become one of the most widely used active ingredients in clean beauty formulations due to its efficacy, gentle side-effect profile, and stability.
