Linalool and limonene are fragrance ingredients found in everyday beauty products that can break down into compounds (hydroperoxides) triggering allergic skin reactions and dermatitis. The study found high rates of positive patch test reactions to these oxidized forms in people with existing skin sensitivity, suggesting they should be tested more routinely to identify who's at risk.

This was a literature review that examined existing patch testing practices and research data on linalool and limonene hydroperoxides across multiple studies to evaluate whether these ingredients warrant more routine allergy screening.
