Daily topical retinol (0.1%) significantly improved crow's feet wrinkles, skin firmness, and overall photoaging after one year
This randomized controlled trial evaluated the long-term anti-aging effects of a topical retinol moisturizer (0.1% retinol) used daily for one year. 32 subjects applied the product to one forearm while the other served as control. Digital image analysis and clinical grading showed statistically significant improvements in fine wrinkles, tactile roughness, mottled hyperpigmentation, and overall photodamage after 52 weeks. Histological analysis confirmed increased glycosaminoglycan and procollagen expression in treated skin. This study provided long-term efficacy data for over-the-counter retinol, supporting its status as the most validated anti-aging ingredient in clean beauty.
