Findings

This review looked at rosemary oil and other natural ingredients for hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). While rosemary oil has become popular as a natural option, the researchers found that more rigorous clinical testing is needed to prove it actually works—the existing studies aren't conclusive enough yet. Currently, only finasteride and minoxidil have FDA approval for treating this type of hair loss.

Methodology

This was a review article that examined published clinical studies on rosemary oil and six other herbal alternatives (peppermint oil, tea tree oil, green tea, pumpkin seed oil, saw palmetto, and lavender oil) to see what evidence exists for treating hair loss.
